Worries on the absence of public transportation service for
Hulhumale' residents

HE Mr Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom
President of the Maldives
Mr. President,
Since Hulhumale' residents are increasing day by day, there
are almost sixty staff attending shift duties at the Airport.
Passengers arriving on midnight flights have no opportunity to
go home, as the last dhoni for Hulhumale' leaves at 1.30 in
the morning.
We see Airports Company vehicles, MTCC vehicles, NSS and
Police vehicles freely driving between the Airport and
Hulhumale' but the Airport Staff and the Arriving/Departing
Passengers have no transport facilities available. This makes
people lose their confidence in the government and start
blaming them.
We have actually brought this to your attention, Mr.
President, because we have made several complaints on this
issue to Hulhumale' Development Cooperation and the Maldives
Airports Company but nothing has been done so far.
Mr. President, we have every hope that you would look into
this matter and facilitate Airport Staff to reach Airport for
their duties on time and back home, facilitate arriving
passengers reach their homes and departing passengers reach
the Airport on time.
