A call for No Protest - and No Voiolence

24|01|2006 | A.I.A | via e-mail

After a lot of people raised opposition to the demonstration called and managed by MDP, rumors are being spread all across Male’ that a violent MOB is being trained and facilitated to confront the demonstrators. They say that they have been preparing sharp objects, iron bars and other kinds of weapons to be used against the protestors. Fingers are being pointed at the BG group, Mazia and TC, also a gang led by Suzeyn, who are financed by Yaminas claimed by the MDP. This is to spread hatred amongst Male’ residents to light a burning rage of fire within the supporters of MDP. These allegations are being spread by MDP supporters to get more people to come out into the streets in the name of supporting them. If this news is wide spread, more young people will try to hit the roads just to get a glance of such BLOODSHED if it was to happen.

My advice as a resident of Male’ and a citizen of Maldives (not a member of any political party) is, there is no point of taking people onto the streets, calling us to bring along children and more women to the protests, In the name of bringing proper and a more mature democracy, I wonder what the MDP is up to and calling for protests. They have named their chairperson the Mandela of Maldives, what a shame. I wouldn’t dare give such an honorable name to such a person who uses fowl language, doesn’t know to separate what is right or wrong. Mandela we know did not take people to the streets; he did not instruct to bring along children or minors for any political agenda.

My family and I are totally against any call for protesting and violence which will create havoc, mislead the people of the clear factors of a true democracy. This is a call upon all Maldivian to refrain from protesting but pressure the current government to reforms in a more mature more friendly and a non violent environment.

Just to finish, I would like to highlight one such factor why we should be patient in bringing reforms and making it happen. We should take the example of our prophet Mohamed (PBUH) who took every step to keep patient in completing the task of calling for Islam to the whole world. It was the wisdom Allah gave him to confront those who confronted also pardon those who hurt him and shed his blood.

I say and I repeat, for a gang of people who doesn’t believe in Islam, and the Quran (who does not know the words of Quran, the words of the prophet which is the word of Allah) will only have to resort to violence and will have no patience in them. MDP has said that they have had enough of the pressure of the government and those against MDP. I say that there are 2 other political parties excluding DRP, why aren’t they calling for civil unrest, civil disobedience. One very true fact is they know that their prayers will be
answered, and soon, MDP and its followers know that Allah will not listen to them, because their followers are all disbelievers of Allah. (most of them amongst MDP)

May Allah save us all form the clutches of evil, (Satan) and give us the wisdom to hold on to patience and uphold the brother hood amongst all Maldivians, and grant us a safer Maldives and speed up reforms.
